Global Theme Settings - Colors

The Colors settings control the overall color system of your Momentum theme. You define color schemes once, each with background, text, accent, link and slider colors, and then assign a scheme to each section. This keeps your store consistent and lets you restyle many sections at once.

Where To Find It

1. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes.
2. Click Edit theme on your Momentum theme.
3. Open Theme settings (gear icon) and select Colors.
4. Add, rename or edit a color scheme.

Settings (per color scheme)

• Background: solid background color of sections that use this scheme.
• Background gradient: optional. Overrides the solid background when set.
• Heading, Body text, Subtitle: text colors.
• Accent (stars, highlights): used for stars, highlights and similar accents.
• Border color: borders and dividers.
• Link color and Link hover color.
• Social icon color.
• Background page default: default page background.
• Slider colors: Navigation hover background color, Pagination slide, Pagination active slide and Arrows slider.

Background Gradients

A Background gradient set in a color scheme is now applied by (almost) all sections that use that scheme, including the header, footer, announcement bar and countdown bar. If the gradient field is empty, the solid Background color is used as before. Only a few utility sections (e.g. account, login and password pages) do not apply it.

In addition, many section-level Background fields are now gradient-capable. When a section is set to Colors → Custom, its Background color (and similar fields such as "Section background color", "Top background", "Bottom background", "Copyright bar background", "Banner background" or "Card background color") lets you choose either a solid color or a gradient in the color picker.

Tips for gradients:

• Keep text readable: check contrast at both ends of the gradient.
• Subtle gradients (two close shades) usually look more premium than strong color jumps.
• If a section looks different after an update, check whether its color scheme has a Background gradient set. Clear the field to return to the solid color.

Save

Click Save. All sections using the edited scheme update immediately.
