Icon Bars (Icon Bar 1 & Icon Bar 2)

Momentum ships two icon bar sections for USPs, certifications, shipping promises and other trust signals:

  • Icon Bar 1 — compact grid of icons/badges with a short title under each item. Ideal for trust/logo strips (e.g. shipping carrier, certifications, "printed locally" badges) directly below the hero.
  • Icon Bar 2 — larger tiles with icon, title and description text. Ideal for "what you get" overviews or fact strips (e.g. delivery time / shipping cost / return window).

Adding The Section To Your Store

  1. Open your theme editor.
  2. Click on "Add Section".
  3. Find and add "Icon Bar 1" or "Icon Bar 2" from the section library.
  4. Add one USP item block per icon; each block takes an icon image (recommended 60 × 60 px for Icon Bar 1) and a title.

Layout Settings (Icon Bar 1)

Grid layout preset Choose a fixed preset (1×4, 2×2, …), "Custom columns" (set desktop columns 1–6 yourself), or "Auto-fit" which reflows items responsively based on a minimum item width.

Columns (desktop / mobile) With the "Custom columns" preset you control desktop columns directly. Mobile columns (1–4) apply when the mobile layout is set to Grid.

Column/row gap (desktop & mobile) Spacing between items in px.

Grid alignment Center, left, right or stretch/justified.

Mobile Layout: Grid vs. Slider

Added in Momentum 1.0.0 (August 2026).

Under Mobile layout you can choose how the items behave on screens up to 768 px:

  • Grid (default) — items wrap into the configured number of mobile columns. Best for even item counts (4 or 6 items in 2 columns).
  • Slider (swipe) — all items sit in one horizontally swipeable row with scroll-snap. No arrows, no dots — the partially visible next item signals that more content can be swiped in. On touch devices customers swipe natively; for mouse users (including the theme editor's mobile preview) a lightweight script enables drag-to-scroll with a grab cursor.

Visible items (mobile slider) — choose 1.5, 2.5 or 3.5. The half item is intentional: a fully aligned grid would look complete and hide the fact that more items follow.

When to use the slider:

  • You have an odd number of items (e.g. 5 trust badges) — a 2-column grid would leave the last item dangling alone.
  • The section sits high on the page (e.g. directly below the hero) and a multi-row grid would push your products too far down. The slider keeps the bar to a single compact row regardless of item count.

The desktop layout is unaffected — the slider applies to mobile only.

Item Title Weight (Icon Bar 2)

Added in Momentum 1.0.0 (August 2026).

Icon Bar 2 tiles show a title and a description. With single-weight fonts (e.g. Questrial) the two could look identical, since the title's default weight (500) renders like regular text there. The Item title weight setting fixes this with relative values:

  • Theme default — the original look (weight 500).
  • Bolder (relative) — one step heavier than the surrounding text. Because it is relative, it works with any font and any base weight — even shops whose base weight is already bold get a visible difference.
  • Lighter (relative) — one step lighter, for the opposite effect.

Prefer the relative options over picking absolute weights: they adapt to whatever typography the shop uses.

Rich Text Descriptions (Icon Bar 2)

Added in Momentum 1.1.0 (October 2026).

The Description text of each USP item in Icon Bar 2 is now a rich text field. You can format the text directly in the editor:

  • Bold and italic words, e.g. to highlight "free" or a number
  • Links, e.g. to your shipping or returns page
  • Bulleted or numbered lists

Existing descriptions keep their text and are shown as a normal paragraph. Keep the formatting light: one bold word or one link per item is usually enough, so the tiles stay calm and easy to scan.

Icon Bar 2 also has a new Button type setting for its button: Custom link or Add to cart (see Section Buttons: Add to Cart & Go to Checkout).

General Settings

Both icon bars support the standard Momentum section settings: color scheme or custom colors, section width (theme default / page width / edge to edge), custom anchor ID, section padding (theme default or custom, per device), display on (all / mobile only / desktop only), and typography overrides including a custom font.

Tips

  • Keep titles short — one line reads best under a badge ("Free shipping", "Oeko-Tex Standard 100").
  • Use consistently sized, transparent PNG icons so the row looks calm; mixed aspect ratios make the bar look uneven.
  • For certification logos, always use the official artwork unmodified and follow the certifier's usage rules.
